What We’ve Achieved

  • Increased self-confidence: Learning new skills and achieving personal goals has boosted self-confidence in young girls and helped them feel more capable and empowered.

  • Improved mental health: Engaging in outdoor activities and spending time in nature has been shown to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improving overall mental health and well-being.

  • Greater resilience: Learning to cope with challenges, setbacks, and failures is an important skill for all children to develop, and outdoor activities like fly fishing help to build resilience.

  • Positive body image: Encouraging girls to embrace their bodies and focus on what they can do, rather than what they look like, help foster a positive body image.

  • Development of new skills: Learning how to fly fish, tie flies, and navigate the outdoors are all valuable skills that can be useful throughout life.

  • Teamwork and social skills: Participating in group activities and outdoor adventures helped the girls develop teamwork and social skills, making them better equipped to work with others in the future.

  • A sense of accomplishment: Setting and achieving personal goals, such as catching their first fish, gave the girls a sense of accomplishment and pride in their abilities.

  • Improved physical health: Spending time outdoors and engaging in physical activity has a positive impact on physical health, reducing the risk of obesity and other health problems.

  • Exposure to new experiences: Many young girls may not have had the opportunity to experience outdoor activities like fly fishing, and participating in our program opened up a world of new experiences and adventures.

  • Lifelong memories: Participating in our program created memories that will last a lifetime, providing girls with positive experiences that they can look back on for years to come.
