What is Cast For Her?
On September 19, the women behind Girls on the Fly are stepping onto the water for a different kind of challenge.
Our board members and volunteers will fish. Our community will pledge. And together, we will raise the funds that help Girls on the Fly continue giving girls opportunities to discover their confidence, resilience, strength, and connection to the outdoors.
This is Cast for Her.
Why Cast For Her?
Because confidence is built by doing hard things.
We use fly fishing and experiences in nature to help girls build tools they can carry far beyond the water: confidence, resilience, coping strategies, positive peer relationships, environmental stewardship, mind-body connection, community, and the courage to keep trying when something feels hard.
The fish is never really the point.
She is.
Fish for our girls. Fund their future.
Your Cast for Her gift helps Girls on the Fly continue providing the experiences, equipment, instruction, mentorship, curriculum, and program resources that make these days possible.
It helps us create a place where a girl can put down her phone, step outside, stand beside women who believe in her, learn something completely new, and discover:
I can do hard things.
SHE DOES NOT NEED TO BE THE BEST ANGLER.
She just needs someone to give her the opportunity to make the first cast.
Somewhere, there is a girl who has never held a fly rod.
She has not experienced another girl cheering when she catches her first fish.
She has not discovered the quiet confidence that comes from doing something she was not sure she could do.
She has not yet stood at the edge of the water and realized:
Maybe I am stronger than I thought.
